I really love to eat fish head curry. I tried it in different places in Singapore and JB, and so far the nicest fish head curry I’ve ever eaten was in 63 Restaurant in Skudai. If you happen to be in Skudai area, do remember to drop by this place for dinner.
As I know there are some different variations of Curry Fish Head: Indian (original), Chinese, Malay and Peranakan. In 63 Restaurant they serve Chinese Fish Head Curry. The main ingredients are snapper’s head, eggplants, okra and curry paste.
This is the one of a few dishes that I like to eat with rice (normally I prefer to eat food with bread ). The gravy is quite spicy and incredibly delicious!:
One small portion of fish head curry and a few bowls of steam rice can feed 3 adults.
Besides of curry fish head 63 Restaurant offers steam boat, seafood, chicken and pork dishes, bean curd, noodles,… whatever… But I always eat the same dish there, because their fish head curry is really great.
Prices here are reasonable, for example, for yesterday’s dinner we paid 38 RM for 3 persons (we had fish head curry, rice, veggies and drinks). See photos of menu below:
