Kukup Fishing Village

Want to escape Singapore? Kukup village is just in 100 km from Singapore city center and 70 km from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This place is famous for it’s seafood restaurants, built on stilts over the water. Here you can try fish, shrimps, clams and other seafood. The Kukup’s signature dish is chili crab.

Usually tourists stay there overnight, relaxing, having seafood and visiting a nearby island “Kukup National Park”. If you have enough time, you can hop on any of the boats for hire, and visit the aquaculture farms where crabs and a variety of fishes are commercially bred.

Those wishing to spend there weekends can stay at the nearby chalet facility (homestay). Below the contact information of some of Kukup’s homestays:

Actually, if you just want to eat fresh and tasty seafood, no need to go so far away – you can visit Todak restaurant in Johor Bahru. But if you want to relax your mind and body in a secluded romantic place, than Kukup – “must visit”.
