Tanjung Piai

Tanjung Piai is the most southern cape of Peninsular Malaysia and thus the southernmost point of the Eurasian mainland. This place is located 80 km from Johor Bahru – you need at least an hour to get there from JB city, but it’s worth it. Place is marked by a sign with an inscription “Congratulation! You are now standing at the southern most tip of mainland Asia”.

Cape Piai looks quite romantic despite the polluted water of the Strait of Malacca:

I’m not sure if there’re any fish, but the fishermen seemed to be very enthusiastic:

Besides of southernmost point of Asia Tanjung Piai has a National Park which covers an area of 926ha – mostly mangrove forests. If you come early morning or in the evening – probably you will meet a lot of monkeys in the forest, beware of your belongings like sunglasses and camera.

At the entrance there is a small shop where you can buy drinks, ice cream and souvenirs. Also don’t forget to take photo near this stone:

Hi, as I know there is no bus service from JB center to Tanjung Piai. So the only way to get there is by taxi.
